Daniel Loxton is a Canadian author, who wrote a kids evolution book (Evolution: How We and All Living Things Came to Be) and published it in Canada last year. I’ve read it (you can borrow it from the library) and it’s beautifully illustrated and straight forward. There’s a small blurb for “ask your parents about religion”, but other than that, it’s all science.

The Globe and Mail just printed an article about how it’s too controversial for US publishers. I guess science is scarier than teen pregnancy to the right-wing Christians down south, but it’s nice to see that in Canada, this book is getting the recognition it deserves.

  1. It’s actually been selected as the Best Canadian Science Book for Young Readers!
