We should have seen it coming: tax season.  Along with tax season comes tax courses that are offered at the library and just like last year the group booked up the rental space.

This means we’re on our own for the next two months.  The gang over at UAAA have helped us out by booking a room for us for our March roundtable, and will advise regarding April closer to the time.

For now though here’s what you need to know for our Skype call with Hemant Mehta ”The Friendly Atheist” on March 3rd.

We will be holding the meeting at the CAB building (Central Academic Building) at the University of Alberta, in room 369 (Circled in Red).  I would  suggest that you use a park and ride service if at all possible as parking at the University is difficult to find and also quite expensive.   There is an LRT and bus service directly into the UofA.   If you need detailed directions you can use the University Campus Map, click on North Campus and then look for the CAB building in the listings.

The time will remain the same, starting at 7pm.   Hope to see you there!

Time to get those volunteer hats on again, this time we will be helping out in the PREFAB shop which is located at 14135-128 Avenue

We are limited to 10 volunteer spots, so please ensure you are available for the entire day before agreeing to come.

Shift is from 8:00am until 4pm, with a few breaks and lunch.
There is a site specific safety orientation for assigned tasks for each day that you are scheduled. YOU MUST BE PUNCTUAL; due to the safety program anyone who misses the morning safety orientation will not be able to work on site.

Those who are interested will have to complete paperwork and return it to Karen Lumley Kerr before April 15th. The paperwork can be found here: Group Construction Volunteer Package 2015

You can bring it to a SEA event or email it to Karen at president@edmontonatheists.ca

NOTE: Habitat for Humanity now requires that you BRING your own set of work gloves. They can be purchased for less than $5 at a local hardware store.
