Mission
The Society of Edmonton Atheists aims to foster a sense of community within Edmonton and surrounding areas among atheists, agnostics, and freethinkers; to promote a positive image of atheism within our city; and to support constructive activism towards a more secular and tolerant society.
History
The Society of Edmonton Atheists (SEA) was originally a Meetup group near the University of Alberta, to provide a place for like-minded people to discuss religion and skepticism. The SEA incorporated in 2008 as a non-profit society. The SEA maintains its focus on community building, promotion of public awareness of atheism, and volunteer activities.
Membership
To become a member of the SEA, you can approach any board member in person, or visit the Shop page to purchase an annual membership via PayPal or your credit card. To learn more about where your money goes, please visit the ‎Finances page.

I consider myself all the above atheist ,agnostic, and a freethinker (Existentialism). If there is anything I can do let me know. Also, If there is a community centre or place of philosophy, please let me know? Would you specifically know of any other communites or banners like “Existentialism” or “Honest Pagan” any where around the city?
I’d appreciate the opportunity to help out and maybe some direction. Thanks.
We meet as a group the first Tuesday of every month, at the Stanley A. Milner Library downtown. Watch here or join us on facebook to be notified of our future events.
Are these meetings at the library open to anyone? Do I have to become a member officially? Are there fees to pay? How large is the group? I’m an atheist and I don’t know anyone else here in Edmonton who I can share my views with.
Hi Karen,
Anyone can attend any of our meetings without being a member. This year, membership is $10 for the year. We have about 50 paid members, over 200 people on our active Facebook page, and usually 20 or so people at the library meetings.
The newsletters mention our planned events for the month. They’ll all get announced on the blog as well, and any other events that pop up will be posted on the blog.
Hope to see you out!
