2014 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Monday, April 7, 2014 will be this year’s SEA Annual General Meeting (AGM), formally starting at 7:00 pm, Stanley A. Milner Library, 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square, 6th Floor, Room 7. We will have greeters, but you may need to ask a security guard to let you up to the 6th floor.

Anyone interested is invited to attend; however, only paying members will be permitted to vote in the general election or on any other business.

If you are at all interested in running for the Board, please take a look at our explanation of the roles and responsibilities for each position, as well as some FAQs about joining the Board. There are current Board members who will not be running again for election. You can email us to let us know that you’d like to run for a Board position (even if you will not be present at the meeting), ask another member to nominate you at the appropriate point during the meeting, or you may also self-nominate at the meeting.

If you would like to see the latest bylaws, they can be found on the website, under “About”.

Deadlines related to the AGM:

  • 21 March – Receipt of proposed bylaw changes. The Board is not proposing any bylaw changes this year. If you would like to propose changes for consideration at the AGM, they must be sent to the Board for distribution to the rest of the membership.
  •  5 April – Notice of a proxy vote. If you are unable to attend and will be voting by proxy, you must contact us 48 hours in advance with the name of the person who will be your proxy. Proxy voting is not permitted for elections or bylaw changes.
