It’s December. Christmas decorations in stores have been up for 8 weeks already, you may be wishing you could target an EMP at speakers playing carols, and the annual charity season is in full swing. Next Tuesday at our monthly round table discussion, we’ll have guest speaker Nadine Riopel (The Savvy Do Gooder) to help us figure out how to make sure our time and money have the desired impact. Maybe you feel like December was just one request for donations after another and wish you had a better way to sort out where you should give. Or maybe you are constantly wondering if the money and time you are spending are being used well.

I’d recommend that you check out Nadine’s PechaKutcha talk on “Why Savvy Do Gooders Don’t  Listen to 17th Century Religious Zealots”.

The SEA will be volunteering at Ronald McDonald House on June 24th to provide dinner to the families staying there, as part of the Home for Dinner program.

Ronald McDonald House provides temporary, affordable accommodation for families whose children are being treated at one of Edmonton’s medical facilities. As you can imagine, cooking a decent meal when they get back after a day of appointments is not high on their priority lists.

We have a full roster of volunteers, but are still looking for monetary donations.

Donations can be made at the pride parade, any meeting or roundtable, as well as by contacting us.
